Those who have been reading and following my blog will now be familiar with my trick of infusing veggies in any and every dish possible – We are all hard pressed for time – come evening, kids are back from school, but have to pursue their other activities and our chauffeur’s hat comes on – Parents in America or Canada will esp. be able to relate to this – It’s not that we are over-ambitious for our kids, but it is the sad truth that all our children have to be over-achievers in order to make the cut in the college of their choice – And my kids have pursued a few activities since preschool and are now at a level it would be foolish to give up –esp because they are SO into it.
Ingredients Preparation
Anyway, all this reasoning apart, I feel guilty feeding carbs by themselves – so my chappatis are now almost always made with one veggie juice or another – And Krithi’s Kitchen announced an event with coriander/ cilantro just as I had made some carrot/tomato chapattis, but where cilantro (kothamali) was the main ingredient – I saw a lot of methi paratha recipes and got inspired to make some Cilantro parathas – My little one not only helped me mess around in the kitchen, but seeing the whole thing being made actually excited her and she quite willingly and happily tasted and relished the end product. As you can see from the pictures, she was pretty gungho about smacking the atta 'reel gud'
2 cups of whole wheat atta (chakki from the Indian store)
1 cup of crushed cilantro
1 tomato
1 medium sized carrot
Wash and clean veggies and cilantro thoroughly
Peel the carrot and slice into big pieces/
Add to your powerhouse blender (Vitamix – I love you)
You will get yourself a green juice
I added dry ground some cumin, coriander seeds, some black peppers, and added to the mix
Once you have this add slowly and knead – cover and keep for about 10-minutes – I skip this step if I am in a hurry and it tastes just as good
Make your chappatis or parathas as you normally do
I also used this as base for an Indian- Chinese Pizza which too I will be blogging soon

Looks so cute n yum ....nice recipe ...dear I replied your query answer on the post...pls check and if any other doubt do feel free to ask.
ReplyDelete.hmm ohkie for sabudana vada, it's again the amount of potato is used and there should be no water in potato nor any other ingredients. Oil temperature again plays a role ....as said before once the vada dropped in oil within seconds it has to float and cook in medium flame. Well dear I never really had this problem ..if I have come to know anything in future will update you.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that is such a great idea to use vegetable juice in there! I never thought abuot doing that but I guess vegetable or fruit juice can be added in place of almost any liquid, really.
